Michaela
Tabb is snooker’s leading female referee. A former nine-ball pool
player and referee, she swapped the blue baize for the green in 2001
and is now a regular on the Tour. The mother-of-two
from Dunfermline in Scotland became the first female to referee at the
World Championship when she took charge of the match between Mark King
and Drew Henry at the Crucible in 2003. She has also refereed at the

 В воскресенье, 24-го ноября московский снукерный турнир завершился. Были проведены полуфинальные матчи, а затем и финал. Надо сказать, что прошли все матчи на очень высоком уровне, что было нетипично для мировой серии. Все старались играть на хорошем уровне, который бы порадовал публику и дал бы возможность победить.
Первым к столу вышли Марк Селби и Дин Цзюньху. У них за карьеру было уже много встреч, каждая из которых проходила в интересной и сложной борьбе. Но здесь ни Марк, ни Дин очень сильно не напрягались. Так уж вышло, что матч с их участием оказался самым неинтересным из трех сыгранных. По ходу матча Марк старался показать свой любимый атакующий снукер, но это ему не удалось.  В субботу, 22-го ноября в УСК «Крылья Советов» стартовал первый в истории России турнир по снукеру, в котором приняли участие профессиональные игроки. В Москву на этап Мировой Серии приехали Джон Хиггинс, Дин Цзюньху и Марк Селби. В последний момент отказался от поездки Грэм Дотт, мотивировавший это скорыми родами его жены.
Также, как и на предыдущих трех этапах, против профессиональных игроков выступили 4 местных игрока. Так, Руслан Чинахов сражался с Марком Селби, Сергей Исаенко с Дином Цзюньху а Анна Мажирина с Джоном Хиггинсом. Снявшегося с турнира Грэма Дотта заменил 14-летний израильтянин Шахар Руберг, который играл с представителем Беларуси – Сергеем Васильевым.

Shachar Ruberg Handed Opportunity of a Lifetime
RUSSIAN youngster Shachar Ruberg was last night handed the opportunity of a lifetime to meet John Higgins in the World Series of Snooker in Moscow this weekend.
The 14-year-old up-and-coming star has been drafted in as a late replacement for 2006 world champion Graeme Dott who has stayed at home in Scotland for the birth of his second child.
Ruberg will now face Dott's scheduled opponent Sergey Vasiliev in the opening round tomorrow (Sat).
If Ruberg gets through the match (Sat) he will be on the brink of a dream encounter against Scottish legend Higgins, twice world champion and one of the favourites to lift the World Series Grand Final at the Kremlin in March.

Dott out of Moscow
GRAEME
DOTT has been forced to pull out of the World Series of Snooker in
Moscow this weekend, because wife Elaine is due to give birth to their
second child.
Scotland's 2006 world champion, who has a
four-year-old son, Lewis, was scheduled to play local hope Sergey
Vasiliev on Saturday.
Dott , who won the second leg of the World
Series in Berlin defeating another ex world champion Shaun Murphy 6-1
in the final , revealed: " I'm disappointed not to be going to Moscow
with the rest of the lads but at the same time I'm just excited that
I'm going to be a dad again.
"The baby was due on Saturday so it
could happen any minute now. It's the waiting for Elaine and myself
that is the hardest part.

On the 21nd-23rd of November, 2008 the World Series of Snooker Grand Final will be held in Krilya Sovetov Venue in Moscow!
The
new world Snooker Series is a new concept in which local champions from
different countries compete against the most professional players in
the world as: John Higgins, Graeme Dott, Steve Davis, Ding Junhui and
many more in a Series of competitions.
The winners in each country competition compete in the Grand Final.
The
World Series of Snooker organization has made a decision that annually,
from 2008 on, the Grand Final of the series will be held in Russia,
Making the tournament in each country "The Road To Moscow".
On the 21 of November the best four local Russian players will compete against four professional players.
The
Snooker World Series competitions were held this year: in Jersey
(21st-22nd of June), Berlin (12th-13th of July) and Warsaw (25th-26th
